* Sri Lanka raises fuel prices

Jan 13, Colombo: Ceylon Petroleum Corporation today increased the fuel prices with effect from midnight.

According to the latest prices hike, price of petrol was increased by 10 rupees, diesel by five rupees and kerosene by two rupees. The new price of petrol is Rs. 127 and diesel is Rs. 80 per litre.

Soon after the announcement, long queues were seen at almost all the fueling stations in the country.

Gasoline prices recently hit record highs globally reaching 100 dollars for a barrel of crude in New York.
