Feb 21, Colombo: Senator Sharon Carstairs of Canada, who chairs the Committee on Human Rights of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), called on Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa this evening at Temple Trees in Colombo.

IPU Secretary General Anders B. Johnson, Secretary of the Human Rights Committee Ingeborg Schwarz, Sri Lankan Human Rights Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe, and President's Secretary Lalith Weeratunga were also present at the meeting.
