Dec 29, Ragama: The number of patients admitted to the hospital due to a food poisoning at a wedding reception in Kadawatha area has risen further.

Acting Director of the Ragama Hospital Dr. Lalani Gurusingha said 43 patients have been admitted to the hospital during the day.

Fifteen out of them have been discharged following treatments and the rest of the patients are still receiving treatments at the hospital.

Dr. Gurusingha said the samples of suspected food have been sent to the Medical Research Institute in Borella for examinations.

According to the sources the bride and a bridesmaid were also among the hospitalized patients.
