* Sri Lanka Police seeks public help to identify the suicide bomber

Dec 29, Colombo: Investigations into yesterday's suspected LTTE suicide attack at a Civil Defense Force (CDF) checkpoint in Wattala has been handed over to the Western Province North Criminal Investigations Unit.

Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekara said that the security forces have already created a picture of the suspected LTTE suicide bomber and security forces are hoping the support of the general public to identify the suspect.

Police have also found the finger tips of the bomber and have started investigations to identify the person.

According to the police spokesman few police units have been deployed to investigate the blast.

SSP Gunasekara said that 10 patients are still receiving treatments at the Colombo National Hospital and Ragama Teaching Hospital.

The suicide bomber blew himself up when he was detained by the guards at the entrance to the Civil Defense Force facility killing eight people and injuring another 17.
