Dec 29, Ratmalana: A minor explosion targeted an electric transformer at Golumada Junction along the Galle Road in Ratmalana this evening.

Police said the explosion, which occurred around 8.45 PM, did not damage the transformer and the target was missed.

There was minor damage only to the two towers on which the transformer was fitted, police confirmed.

According to sources, there were no reported injuries due to the explosion.
