* Another food convoy sent to IDPs in Sri Lanka

Dec 29, Colombo: Sri Lankan government in cooperation with the United Nations World Food Programme dispatched another shipment of essential food items to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Wanni region today.

A food convoy of 60 trucks carrying essential items including rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil and medicine left the Nedunkerni Army roadblock this morning around 9:30 a.m. to the un-cleared areas in Mullaitivu District, the military said.

The relief items will be distributed among the civilians in Mullaitivu District by civil administrative authorities.

This is the ninth shipment of food and other relief items the government has sent to the uncleared areas since last October.
