* Sri Lanka Navy sinks LTTE boat

Dec 28, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy destroyed an LTTE logistic boat just after midnight yesterday (27) in the northern seas killing at least four rebels, the military said.

Navy intercepted an LTTE boat in the seas 12 nautical miles northeast off Point Pedro and opened heavy fire. The boat, believed to be carrying supplies to the Tigers off northern Jaffna peninsula exploded and sunk, sources said.

Four LTTE Sea Tiger cadres who were onboard have reportedly been killed. The navy suffered no casualties, he said.
