Dec 23, Jaffna: Unidentified gunman fatally shot a driver attached to the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in Jaffna peninsula of northern Sri Lanka this morning, the police said.

Spokesperson for the ICRC in Sri Lanka Sarasi Wijeratna said the victim was identified as 32 year old Sundaralingam Gangadharan, a resident of Jaffna.

According to the reports the victim was shot dead near the ICRC office in Jaffna when he was on the way to the office.

Jaffna police are conducting further investigations.
