Dec 22 Colombo: Sri Lankan main opposition United National Party (UNP) today handed over a letter to Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickramanayaka demanding an urgent session of the parliament.
UNP parliamentarians Ravi Karunanayaka and John Amaratunga handed over the request to the Premier this evening at his office in Colombo.
The main opposition urges the Premier to summon the parliament before the end of this year to discuss the fuel crisis in the country pointing out that the government did not reduce the petrol prices as the Supreme Court directed last week.
According to the UNP the motorists in Sri Lanka are facing sever difficulties due to this fuel crisis at the moment.
