* Four dead bodies found in a rural village in Northeast Sri Lanka

Dec 02, Padaviya: The bodies of four people including three children were found hacked to death at a village in Padaviya, Anuradhapura last night.

Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekara said that the bodies were found on a tip given by a civilian at Maithreepura in Padaviya.

According to the sources the victims were mother and her own two children and another child from their neighbors.

The reason to this killing was not known yet, Padaviya police said.

Meanwhile Padaviya police found a bag packed with arms and ammunition in thick jungle at Kuda Athimale.

According to the Police, the bag contained ten hand grenades, seven side charge bombs, nine pressure mines, 46 T-56 cartridges, three LTTE uniforms and medical and food items.

Police believe the LTTE cadres fleeing the area have left behind the arms.
