Aug 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka Air Force fighter jets conducted two air raids targeting a Sea Tiger training facility and a Tiger mortar location in the Wanni region today.
Air Force spokesman, Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara said that the first air raid was launched around 11.30 AM targeting a Sea Tiger training facility located 4.5 km northwest of Poonaryn junction in Kilinochchi.
Later, the fighter jets targeted a Tamil Tiger mortar location situated 3 km north of Nachchikudha, around 1 PM. The air raid was conducted in support of Task Force 1 troops operating south of Kilinochchi warfront, said the Air Force spokesman.
Citing the fighter pilots, he added that both targets were accurately hit.
