* 122 Sri Lankan trainee army soldiers fallen ill

Aug 28 Ampara: Around 122 trainee soldiers have been admitted to the Dehiatthakandiya hospital this morning (28) following food poisoning at the Henanigala Army training camp.

Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said soon after eating their breakfast the trainee soldiers had started vomiting.

According to the Dehiatthakandiya hospital Sources, three of them have been transferred to the Badulla Base hospital.

Military said ten soldiers were transferred to Polonnaruwa district hospital by Thursday afternoon as their condition turned worse.

The Army is conducting investigations. A sample of the food is to be referred to the government analyst and the Medical Research Institute in Colombo for further investigations.
