Aug 27, Colombo: Doctors working in Eastern Sri Lanka are planning to start a union action demanding some incentives as they face hardships due to lack of facilities.
However, no date has been scheduled yet for the planned union action by the doctors in the East.
Dr. Upul Gunasekara, Deputy Secretary of Government Medical Officer’s Association said nearly 1,000 Doctors working in Eastern Province are facing many difficulties. He says the doctors are working with fewer facilities in an insecure environment.
GMOA points out the injustice of this matter is the doctors in other parts of the country with better facilities are given many incentives.
