Aug 27, Colombo : Sri Lanka's sprint queen Susanthika Jayasinghe today said that she will retire from the athletics very soon.
Soon after returning to the country from Beijing this morning, 32 year old Susanthika stressed now the time has came to retire from athletics. However she did not mention an exact time frame for her retirement from athletics.
Susanthika, an Olympic medal holder from Kegalle area showed her talent for the last ten to fifteen years locally and internationally. She won a bronze medal in 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney for 200 meters.
She qualified for the semi finals in 200 meters event at this year’s Olympics in Beijing but placed seventh at the semi finals.
