Aug 26, Colombo: The eighth South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Trade fair – 2008 will be held at the BMICH Convention Center in Colombo from August 28-31.
The principal organizing body for the 8th SAARC Fair, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) is hosting the event this year for the second time. FCCISL hosted the SAARC Trade Fair in 1998 for the first time.
The holding of SAARC Trade Fair has become a regular feature since inaugurated in 1996 in New Delhi, India.
The trade fair expects to attract manufacturers, exporters, trading organizations, entrepreneurs and micro and women enterprises showcasing variety of products from all sorts of industries manufactured and marketed in the SAARC countries.
Meanwhile the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (IPS) together with FCCISL holds the 1st South Asian Economic Summit (SAES) from August 28 – 30 in parallel with the 8th SAARC Trade Fair.
