* CaFFE reports 265 incidents during Provincial Council Elections

Aug 24, Colombo: The election watchdog, Campaign for Free and Fair Election (CaFFE) said 265 incidents have taken place during the period from July 1 to August 24.

The total includes election related violence, misuse of state property, and other incidents which has an impact over the election process.

According to CaFFE, 53 cases on misuse of state property, 194 incidents on election related violence, and 12 other similar incidents which have an impact on the election were reported.

Taking the District count, Anuradhapura being the most number of violations, has 99 incidents reported, Polonnaruwa with 61 reported incidents, Kegalle with 56 incidents, and Ratnapura with 49 reported incidents during the North Central and Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council elections 2008.
