* Two Sri Lankan ministers escape hand grenade attack

Aug 23, Polonnaruwa: An unidentified person has thrown a hand grenade at two Sri Lankan Muslim Ministers last night (22) at Kaduruwela in Polonnaruwa.

Polonnaruwa Police said the incident took place at about 11.30 pm at Kaduruwela, Nelumwila area.

Amir Ali, Minister of Disaster Relief Services and Hussain Bahila, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs were the target of this hand grenade attack, Police added.

“However we were lucky to escape from this hand grenade attack,” Minister Amir Ali said.

The Blast occurred while the two Ministers are on the way to their rest house after the election campaign for today's Provincial Council Elections.
