* Sri Lanka military says 21 Tigers killed in new fighting, seven LTTE bodies handed over to ICRC
Saturday, April 26, 2008, 14:53 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Apr 26, Colombo: Sri Lankan defense authorities said today Security Forces in Wanni handed over dead bodies of seven Tamil Tigers to ICRC officials this morning to be delivered to the LTTE through the Omanthai Entry/Exit point while continued clashes in the area killed 21 more Tigers yesterday.

The bodies of Tiger cadres were found ahead of frontlines in Welioya and Vavuniya during clearing operations conducted in the area after confrontations yesterday.

Meanwhile the Army continued its forward push in the Wanni region against the Tigers. Troops killed five Tigers and captured a LTTE bunker line in Welioya yesterday while another 16 Tigers were killed in Mannar and Vavuniya battlefronts.

Sri Lankan government has stepped up its military campaign against the LTTE promising to crush the terror outfit. However in view of the recent setback in Muhamalai, defense observers say the government has underestimated the enemy strength.
