Apr 21, Batticaloa: Distribution of official polling cards for the upcoming provincial polls in the Eastern Province commenced today. The process is to be completed by May 2.

In Batticaloa district the distribution is done through 42 post offices. According to Batticaloa district Assistant Election Commissioner, T. Krishnanandalingam all polling cards have already been sent to post offices for distribution among the voters.

The first ever PC election held for the Eastern Province is scheduled to be held on May 10. Two main political parties and 15 other political parties are contesting for this election. Number of qualified voters is about 1 million.
