Apr 21, Batticaloa: Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) says that it will submit an impeachment against President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the parliament following the May 10 Eastern provincial council election.
Chairman of SLMC, Bashir Segudawood yesterday speaking at an election rally held in Eravur, Batticaloa said that steps would be taken to topple the government once the election is concluded.
He further said that the government has taken steps to engineer a spilt in the JVP like it had already destroyed the SLMC. He further noted that, the JVP will reorganize itself and will protest against the government in near future. Once the JVP starts its protest against the government, a general election will be inevitable, and the SLMC will join hands with the all other parties to topple the Rajapaksa rule, he predicted.
