Apr 16, Deniyaya, Sri Lanka: Five youths who had gone for a river bath at a waterfall of Gin River in the Deniyaya area have drowned last evening. The victims in the ages of 22 -24 years were reported missing since 5.20 pm, and the divers found their bodies this morning.

According to the police sources, the youths had been under the influence of alcohol at the time of drowning. All victims were residents of Mathudobe area.

Meanwhile another two persons have reportedly been missing after going for a river bath in the Mahaweli River, in Katugastota, in the Kandy District since this morning.

According to the police sources, the missing persons were residents of Wellampitiya.
