Saturday, September 29, 2007, 6:09 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Sept 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka Air Force fighter jets bombed a key Sea Tiger training facility at Thevipuram in Mullaitivu this morning, the military said.

Defense sources said the air raid, launched following intelligence gathering for a long time, accurately hit the target which is known as the Lima 2 Base. Sources said the real time ground information has shown increased activity recently in the targeted camp.

The air attack comes a day after the Navy sunk three LTTE boats off the coast of Pulmoddai near Trincomalee from a cluster of 18 LTTE boats attempting to evacuate trapped Tiger cadres.
