Sept 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka government will set up a Sustainable Energy Authority from October 01 under the Ministry of Power and Energy.
The Minister of Power and Energy W.D.J. Senevirathna said that the Authority would aim at generating 400 Mega Watts of electricity through wind, small hydro power units, bio gas, dendro power etc.
The bill on setting up of the Sustainable Energy Authority was passed in the parliament recently and it has been gazetted now, Ministry sources said.
