Sept 20, Colombo: The National Arts Festival of Sri Lanka was declared open under the patronage of Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickramanayaka at Sripali College, Horana, the home town of the Premier.
The National Arts Festival will be held for three days with literary seminars, exhibitions and felicitations to the veterans.
The best literary works of year 2006 will be awarded state honors at the closing ceremony to be held on September 23.
The Raigampura Arts Festival that highlights the literary service of the writers from the historical Raigam Kingdom will also be held at the National Arts Festival tomorrow.
