* Another mass murder suspect killed in accident in Sri Lanka

Sept 19, Colombo: Another suspect of the five persons massacre of Panadura in Sri Lanka was killed in an accident at Bolgoda River yesterday, Panadura police said.

The suspect was in a Police boat returning after surrendering a weapon used in the massacre when he drowned while trying to escape, Police said.

Another suspect of the crime was killed in police fire on August 28 in a similar escape attempt. The suspect had been taken to surrender a dagger used in the killing when he attempted to lob a hand grenade at police officials. The suspect succumbed to injuries received in the Police fire on the spot according to the Police.

Panadura police found the bodies of five males hacked and gunned down around 2 AM on August 26. Reportedly, 26 persons have been killed in a deep-rooted animosity between two groups so far.
