Monday, October 29, 2007, 11:12 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Oct 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka government sources said that the Consumer Affairs Authority would permit another hike in LP gas prices.

Sources said that the price of a 13.5 Kg gas cylinder could be raised by around Rs. 50 from November. In August Sri Lanka's consumer authority and the gas companies agreed on a price formula to adjust LPG prices every two months.

Currently a 12.5 kilogram domestic cylinder sells at 1,298 rupees and a small 2.3 kilogram cylinder at 239 rupees.
