Oct 16, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa this morning
inspected the progress of the housing project in "Ranaviru Village" for the
security forces at Ipalogama in Anuradhapura.
The proposed project will construct a township consisting of 1620 houses at
Ipalogama in the initial stage.
The Cabinet in March 2007 approved a proposal by President, as Minister of
Defence, Public Security, Law and Order for the construction of 50,000
houses for members of all the security forces.
Ministers Jeyaraj Fernandopulle, Anura Priyadarsana Yapa, North Central
Province Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake Deputy Minister Duminda
Dissanayake, Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa also participated.
