Nov 07, Colombo: Continuing torrential rains since last evening spilled the Gin River and Nilwala River in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka flooding many areas in the Galle and Matara districts.

Sources from the area said that a number of roads were under water in low-lying areas. Several minor landslides have also been reported.

Meteorological Department forecasts heavy winds and thunder showers in many areas of the country today.
