Nov 29, Colombo: Minster of Social Welfare and Social Services and Leader of Eelam People’s Democratic Party (EPDP), Douglas Devananda said that days of blood thirsty Prabhakaran, the leader of Tamil Tigers will be over in the near future. He said that LTTE is not a liberator outfit for Tamils but one that annihilates its own race.

The Minister made above comments making a special statement at the parliament today. The government and JVP MPs greeted Minister Devananda with applause when he got up to make the statement.

“If Tamil people get liberation over my death, I will face it happily. But, has LTTE brought any liberation by killing great Tamil leaders like Kumar Ponnambalam, Amirthalingam or Neelam Theruchelvam,” he asked.

Minister Devananda escaped from the 13th assassination attempt by Tamil Tigers as an LTTE suicide bomber made an abortive attack inside his Ministry premises yesterday.
