Nov 27, Teheran: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today met the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at his official residence in Tehran.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is Iran's spiritual leader and highest authority. His voice overrides all others in the hierarchy.

The President also addressed the Sri Lanka and Iran Investment and Business forum in Teheran organized by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Teheran and Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka. A delegation of senior ministers including Petroleum Minister A.H.M. Fowzie and senior government officials accompanied the President.

A.H.M. Fowzie, Iranian Commerce Minister Masud Mirkazemi, Deputy Commerce Minister Dr. Seyood Masood, Sri Lanka Finance Secretary Dr. P.B.Jayasundara, BOI Chairman Dammika Perera, Presidential Advisor A.H.M. Azwar and Iranian and Sri Lankan businessmen were also present.
