May 28, Colombo: Sri Lanka government has allocated Rs. 1.12 billion to the decentralized budget of the Members of Parliament, the Minister of Government Revenue and Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.
Accordingly, the 225 MPs will have Rs. Five million each for the development work in their electoral districts.
The government has also taken steps to vest the powers to the District Secretaries to approve the development projects conducted with the decentralized allocations.
