* Sri Lanka Health Ministry to investigate Marxist's sabotage

May 27, Colombo: Sri Lanka Minister of Health and Nutrition Nimal Siripala de Silva has ordered the investigation unit of the Ministry to conduct an investigation on the sabotage activities allegedly conducted by the Marxist People’s Liberation Front (JVP) affiliated trade union.

The strikers damaged the electricity system of the National Hospital. Oxygen cylinders of the Intensive Care Unit were also damaged and waste was mixed to the rice in the kitchen.

The Minister insists the use of finger impression machines to record the attendance although the JVP affiliated All Lanka Health Services Union has threatened a strike in the hospitals from June 1st if the circular is not amended.
