* Sri Lanka President's day in Jordan

May 18, Amman, Jordan: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today attended the World Economic Forum in Jordan.

Following the forum he held bilateral talks with several world leaders including King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan.

President also held discussions with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai.

More than 1,200 participants from 56 countries including 16 heads of state attended the meeting in the King Hussein Conference Centre on the shores of the Dead Sea.

Bilateral agreements between Sri Lanka and Jordan on trade and culture were also signed during the meeting. Trade Minister G.L. Peiris and Jordanian Cultural Minister sign agreements on trade.

Queen Rania of Jordan greeted the First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa and the President.

President Rajapaksa met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaukat Aziz at the King Hussein Convention centre.
