* Sri Lanka, China sign agreement on development of Hambantota Port

Mar 12, Colombo: Sri Lanka and China have signed an agreement on a Hambantota Port Development Project.

The agreement between the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), the China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. and the Sino Hydro Corporation Ltd. was signed this morning at Temple Trees in Colombo.

SLPA Chairman Saliya Wickramasuriya, Vice Chairman R.M.P.G. Wickrama and CEO of the China Harbour Engineering Company Dr. Hu Jianhua were signers of the agreement.

Ministers Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Mahinda Amaraweera and Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Nirupama Rajapaksa MP, President’s Secretary Lalith Weeratunga, Finance Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundara and other officials were also present.
