* Claymore mine kills two STF personnel in eastern Sri Lanka

Mar 11, Colombo: At least two Special Task Force (STF) personnel were killed when a powerful claymore mine, believed to have been detonated by the LTTE, exploded in Pandiruppu in the Ampara district this morning.

“LTTE terrorists detonated a claymore mine targeting an STF foot patrol in the Ampara-Kalmunai-Pandiruppu area today at 8.55 AM, killing two STF officers,” a Sri Lankan military spokesperson said.

He said that another officer was injured and admitted to the Ampara hospital.
