June 04, Colombo: The bodies of the slain Sri Lanka Red Cross volunteers will be transported to their home town Batticaloa tomorrow, the Director General of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Neville Nanayakakara said.
The bodies were handed over to the Red Cross today by the Ratnapura Magistrate Court after the post mortems and they were taken to Colombo.
The bodies of the Red Cross volunteers were found yesterday from Kiriella in the Ratnapura district. The deceased persons, S. Shanmugan (32) and K. Chandramohan (28) are residents of the Batticaloa district.
They were abducted near the Colombo Fort railway station by a white van a day before the bodies were found. They were on their way home after participating in a meeting of the Sri Lanka Red Cross.
