* Milk food price increased while welfare packets in Sri Lanka budget shops

June 04, Colombo: The Secretary to the Ministry of Trade, Marketing Development, Co-operatives and Consumer Affairs Dr. R. M. K. Ratnayake said that the milk food companies have agreed to sell the welfare packets in government retail stores for a lower price.

The low priced milk food packets are available in co-operative and Lak Sathosa shops. The companies have agreed to sell 25% of their production in welfare packets, the Secretary said.

The Consumer Affairs Authority recently signed agreements with several milk food companies and allowed to increase prices.
