June 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka Marxist People’s Liberation Front (JVP) launched an agitation against the government today in number of places around the country urging the government to ease the cost of living burden.

The major demonstration against the rising cost of living and urging the government to bring down the inflation was held in Nugegoda town in the outskirts of the Colombo city around 4 P.M. Gampaha district demonstrations were held in Kiribathgoda town.

JVP parliamentarians led demonstrations of hundreds of party members and supporters were held in major towns of the country. JVP also urged the government to take actions against the corrupt politicians who have been identified by the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).
