* Sri Lanka President appoints a special committee to attend the woos of the families of disappeared persons

June 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed a special committee comprised three ministers and veteran leftist to attend to the welfare of the families of the disappeared individuals.

The committee is coordinated by the Minister of Disaster Management and Human Rights Mahinda Samarasinghe. The other members of the committee are Ministers Rajitha Senarathna, S. Radhakrishnan and the leader of the opposition of the Colombo Municipal Council Vasudewa Nanayakkara.

The President has instructed the committee to meet soon and take immediate measures to attend to the woos of the families of the disappeared persons.
