June 23, Colombo: Chief Ministers of the seven Provincial Councils in Sri Lanka have decided to prepare a legal framework to regulate the tuition classes in the country.
The Chief Ministers who also hold the post of Provincial Minister of Education discussed the problems regarding the tuition classes at the 1st conference of the Provincial Council Chief Ministers held in Ambilipitiya. A special attention was paid to the holding of tuition classes on Sundays obstructing the traditional temple school religious education.
The Chief Ministers also paid attention to grant the appointments of teachers in provinces to the candidates from the provinces, to object the unnecessary meddling of the linear ministries and to set up children’s magistrate courts in all provinces.
