July 05, Colombo: Sri Lanka Marxist People’s Liberation Front (JVP) yesterday invited the Sri Lanka Freedom Party People’s Wing leaders Mangala Samaraweera and Sripathi Suriyaarachchi to join the New National Front led by the JVP.

In a letter handed over to the People’s Wing when the two parties met yesterday JVP hails the decision of the former ministers to break away from the government. However, the JVP says that if the politicians who break away from the ruling party think they can do any good to the country by joining the United National Party, it will be the repetition of the same historic fault.

The JVP urges the patriots and the progressives to break away from the government that has deviated from the received mandate and to join the New National Front led by the JVP to develop the programme to uplift the country, which was attempted at the 2004 general election and the 2005 Presidential.
