July 24, Colombo: President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited Kataragama to attend the Kataragama Esala Perahera and religious ceremonies at Kiri Vehera this morning.

Thousands of Tamil pilgrims from the North and East come for the Perahera season in Kataragama. The President visited with them and served a meal to devotees at a dansala.

Minister A. Thondaman, President's Secretary Lalith Weeratunga, President's Additional Secretary Gamini Senarath, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, and Kataragama Basnayake Nilame Sasendra Rajapaksa were also present.
