July 16, Colombo: Sri Lanka government sources said that construction on the proposed Colombo Outer Circle Expressway would begin in September.

The 28-kilometer expressway from Kottawa to Wattala will connect the Southern Expressway to the proposed Kandy and Katunayake expressways.

Compensations for the fourth phase of the land takeover were paid recently and Rs. 125 million was granted to the displaced. The total cost of the compensation to the displaced is around Rs. 600 million.
