Jan 16, Colombo: Sri Lanka Agricultural Product Marketing Authority will sell out 36,708 metric tonnes of paddy stored in its warehouses in paddy-rich Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Hambanthota and Ampara districts.

Market analysts said that the move will affect the reduction of escalating paddy prices in local market and will also help to maintain a lower cost of living.

The paddy varieties available are price marked from Rs. 18.75 to Rs. 21 per kilo. The Authority purchased these paddy stocks at the government registered price of Rs. 16.50 per kilo for 'Nadu' paddy and Rs. 17.50 per kilo for 'Samba' paddy.

The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Agro Produce Marketing Authority, Priyankara Jayarathna said buyers can obtain 5000 kg and higher amounts at the stores in the above mentioned districts. City Bank Card, Chase low rate loan, American Express
