Jan 16, Colombo: The Sri Lankan government is building a housing complex in the Daluwa area of the North Western Province to house the 72 families that lost their land to the construction of the first coal power plant in Norochcholai.
Ministry of Power and Energy sources said that each family’s house will have a 20-perch garden and two acres of land for cultivation.
Their housing complex will include a hospital, playground, community centre and shrines. The Education Department is to upgrade the village junior school to the secondary level, Ministry sources said.
