* Bandaranaike returns as Sri Lanka's Minister of National Heritage
Thursday, February 22, 2007, 13:54 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Feb 22, Colombo: Senior Sri Lankan politician Anura Bandaranaike, the son of two Prime Ministers and the brother of former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, took his oaths today as the Minister of National Heritage before President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Temple Trees.

The Minister was sworn into the same Ministry from which he was removed after being absent for the last debate on the extension of emergency regulations.

The Minister earlier raised his voice against the recent re-allocation of Ministries, claiming that he could do nothing with the Ministry provided to him.

Minister Bandaranaike, who earlier made some angry remarks, later met the President and buried the hatchet. Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and Western Province Chief Minister Alavi Moulana were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
