Dec 09, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived in the capital of Japan,
Tokyo yesterday for a two-day official visit a special invitation from Japanese Prime
Minister Yasuo Fukuda.
On the first leg of the visit The President visited the famous Kiyomizu-dera Temple in
Kyoto and presented a Buddha statue to the Chief Incumbent of the Temple.
President is due to meet Prime Minister Fukuda and Emperor Komatsu Akihito tomorrow.
Emperor Akihito will host the President and First Lady Shiranthi at the Akasaka Palace,
a former imperial residence that functions today as the State Guest-House.
