Dec 20, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today felicitated Ven. Halvitigala Assajee Nayaka Thero, the Viharadhipathi (head of temple) of Kusinara Nuwara (Kushinagar) in India.

The Japan-Sri Lanka Buddhist Centre in India will appoint the Nayaka Thero as the Chief Incumbent for India (Barathaya) of Shyamapali Chapter. Ven. Pahalagama Somarathna Thero, members of the Maha Sangha, and a Japan Buddhist delegation are also pictured.
