Sri Lanka::
* Tsunami destroyed Galle Stadium to host the third Test match
Saturday, December 15, 2007, 16:03 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Dec 15, Colombo: The newly constructed Galle Stadium will be the venue for the third and final test cricket match between Sri Lanka and England next Tuesday (18). It will be the first Test in the historic city of Galle since the stadium was destroyed by the devastating tsunami on the 2004 Boxing Day.

Ground workers are frantically putting finishing touches despite the heavy rains to prepare the stadium in time to host the match.

The overseer of the project to redevelop the stadium for the past three years, Jayananda Warnaweera says he and his crew will make it happen. Warnaweera, a former Test cricketer, was present when the tsunami washed away the stadium three years ago.

Sri Lanka leads the three-Test series 1-0. England managed to draw on the second Test match.
