Aug 28, Colombo: One of the major suspects of the killing of five persons in Panadura police area on Saturday was killed in police fire today.

The suspect had been arrested from Ingiriya area. He was taken to hand over a dagger used for the killing when he reportedly attempted to lob a hand grenade at police officials and police have fired at him.

The suspect succumbed to injuries on the spot according to police. Reportedly, the suspect is the 25th killed in the deep rooted animosity between two underworld gangs.
